Handstand iPad Case - Video Review
Sat, July 9, 2011 at 8:20 PM Have you ever had problems getting to grips with your iPad? Sometimes the iPad can be a slippery little so-and-so to keep hold of. Not to mention finding the best way to hold it comfortably for extended periods of time without your arm falling off.
Hub International have come up with what they hope is the solution in the shape of the HandStand iPad case.

I've been waiting for this case to be updated for the iPad 2 as I think I would find it quite useful in class.
I teach ICT in a secondary school and at the moment I'm still trialling the use of my personal iPad 2 as a teacher aid, rather than a learning aid used by students. I often use it for referring to notes, mindmaps, websites and images as I walk around the classrooms and this case would make it a lot easier to hold.
Whilst it's mostly myslef that uses the iPad (hey, it's my own, expensive, personal equipment!), I do once in a while let trustworthy students use it and this would ease my mind knowing they are less likely to drop it. I can see them also using this case for when they are interviewing other students or taking surveys, etc.
I've just bought and applied an iCarbon skin to the back of the iPad which makes it easier to grip than the bare aluminium back, but this case may make it more comfortable to hold for long periods of time. I'll have to see and let you know if I get one.
Your in luck, the HandStand is available for iPad 2...check out http://thehandstand.com/ for more information.
@ICT Tower That's the kind of situation we envisaged the HandStand being used in and it certainly would be of use in your classes we think. We tested the iPad 2 version obviously as it has the camera cutout. It feels very secure in your hand, but students always seem to find a way to break things. ;-)
Thanks for your comment.
@HandStand - Hi, thanks for joining in the comments.
I work with youngsters with special needs (from 2 to 19) at a school in south Birmingham.. I am sure these will come in very handy indeed!
@rondema - Let us know how you get on if you do get the HandStand case, thanks for commenting.
