Thu, May 12, 2011 at 11:14 AM
Ever wondered what GarageBand for iPad sounds like in the hands of a pro?
Here's a video demo from B's Music Shop in Mount Pleasant, Michigan. In the video Jeff Dunmire from Casio demonstrates just how good the $4.99 GarageBand app sounds on the iPad.
It made us smile!

Definitely an old-school Demo Dude. Notice he had a nice lil' riff/hook worked up for each sound. How many tunes did you recognize?
@cliffman - Hey there's nothing wrong with old school! ^_^ He can still play though right? Thanks for commenting.
Oh, ya, he could play, i was expressing admiration. Very skilled guy - notice how he did various instrument-appropriate moves, like the palm gliss with the organ sound?
@cliffman - Yeah, we are seriously jealous!
Nice! Have garage band on my Mac and I think the sound patches are great so didn't expect any less here. This opens up some very portable solutions though. I guess the only difference would be you'd need to power up a USB midi keyboard externally. Would be great if the iPad could do that. That would be a totally portable solution.
@Wale - If you don't mind a much smaller keyboard and a few compromises, there are several MIDI keyboards that will connect to the iPad via USB and Apple's Camera Connection Kit - no external power needed.
