Thu, March 10, 2011 at 12:23 PM Juried by the super talented Corliss Blakely and tying in with this year's SXSW, the 'Art from iPad' Exhibition opens tonight in Austin, Texas.
This exhibition displays art created on the iPad by a range of artists, including some of the contributors to our iPad Creative Flickr Group. The art will be displayed in various ways using the Gallery's 58" HDTV, iMacs and iPads, as well as in printed form (which we would be most interested to see).
We would like to congratulate all the artists who will have their work exhibited, it is a fantastic demonstration of how the iPad can be used to create wonderful artistic content and an inspiration to others.
You can sample some of the art that will be exhibited in a special online preview. If you are fortunate enough to be headed to SXSW this weekend be sure to drop in and support your fellow iPad Creatives.

Jann Alexander here, owner and artist at Austin Details Art + Photo gallery in downtown Austin, Texas. Just discovered your great blog and your nice comments about the Art from the iPad exhibit I've put on--it's been a fabulous experience since we had entries from all around the world, of very high caliber, from accomplished painters who have turned their well-honed skills and experience to the potential of this new medium. We printed a selection of the works on fine art archival papers on our in-house wide-format giclee printer--they reproduce beautifully with texture and painting strokes evident, and are museum-quality in every way. We're holding the exhibit over through mid-April--showing art made on iPads ON iPads is a fun way for art lovers to fully experience the work they admire. Thanks for your coverage of the show!
Jann - Thank you very much for stopping by and commenting, it is really good to hear that these images hold up when printed too.
