So far we have covered music synths and arcade emulation in our 'We want' series. Today's 'want' is simple and entirely possible, we want StarCraft for iPad.

With StarCraft 2 current warming up the GPU's of laptops across the globe, now is a good time to start thinking about retooling the original classic for Apple's brand new platform. The iPad is perfectly suited for StarCraft, the 1024 x 768 display, stunning battery life and multi-touch interface make for a compelling StarCraft platform. We can't think of any real reason why this project can't get sorted in double quick time.

We understand that Blizzard must have their hands full with the launch of the (very!) long awaited sequel, but surely this project can be spun off to a third party? The assets are already in place and with the screen resolution and CPU power of the iPad equalling or even exceeding that of the PC platform for which StarCraft was originally created, it seems like a relatively simple project for a capable iOS developer.

StarCraft for the iPad would almost certainly be a massive success. We are confident that Blizzard must be on the case and we expect to hear the terrifying phrase, 'Nuclear launch detected' during iPad multiplayer StarCraft games sometime in 2011. We can't wait!
